Our Logo and Yosemoji
Caligraphy
Saki means happiness in
Japanese. In order to convey
our commitment to quality
and authenticity, we decided
to commission the Japanese
logo to Umon Tachibana, the
last disciple of Ukon
Tachibana and one of the
only 16 authorised Yose Moji
Calligrapher in Japan.
Yose Moji is one of the four
types of Edo Moji letters
created during Edo era (15
to 17th century) and used to
promote traditional stage
art / performance such as
Kabuki, Sumo and Rakugo
(storytelling).
The traditional wish behind
Yose Moji calligraphy to
lead a Rakugo stage to the
full-house success by the
unique technique minimising
the blank space between each
brush is another reason why
we chose to use Yose Moji.
We wish Saki’s commitment to
quality and authenticity to
be appreciated by as many
audience as we received at
our stage of culinary art .
